M. Night Shyamalan’s next is a sci-fi project with Will Smith

JoBloJoBlo

If you thought THE LAST AIRBENDER might have made a ding in filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan’s Hollywood status, not even close.

Shyamalan is teaming up with megastar Will Smith for a sci-fi project called ONE THOUSAND A.E., to be produced by Smith’s company Overbrook.

The story is being kept top secret (though you can infer a futuristic tale from the title) and the script comes from Gary Whitta, which you might consider good news if you appreciated THE BOOK OF ELI more than Shyamalan’s own recent original writing like THE HAPPENING.

Ah, and in true Shyamalan fashion, here’s the twist: It’s actually being developed as a starring vehicle for Will’s kid Jaden Smith, not the A-lister himself. So, hope you liked THE KARATE KID. (I kinda did.)
