More MONTY PYHTON hijinks? Yes please.
Former writer, member, and director of MONTY PYTHON and PYTHON related projects, Terry Jones hasn’t helmed a film in awhile. Now it looks like he will be getting back on board the directing train to do a comedy titled ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING.
Jones wrote the script with Gavin Scott (SMALL SOLDIERS, THE BORROWERS) and it apparently involves, “aliens, a goofy Brit, a talking dog, and buckets of silliness.” Fantastic combination!
Frequent correspondent for THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART, John Oliver is set to star in the film. Jones is also in talks with Robin Williams to voice Dennis the talking dog. Who else has Jones reached out to? MONTY PYTHON mates: John Cleese, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, and Terry Gilliam. Amazing. Production will begin next spring.
I’m down. Jones directed LIFE OF BRIAN and shared helming duties with Terry Gilliam on MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL. To hear about the PYTHON gang possibly coming together on a new project (Python related or not) is just plain awesome.
