The TRANSPORTER franchise may be on blocks at the moment, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t important deliveries to be made.
Enter Jeffrey Dean Morgan (WATCHMEN, “Supernatural”), who will star in the action vehicle (ahem) THE COURIER. Morgan will play a hotshot delivery man who is dispatched to take a briefcase to an elusive underworld figure, while cops and rivals crooks hound him for the mystery item.
The script comes from writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas (3:10 TO YUMA, WANTED) and will be directed by Hany Abu-Assad (PARADISE NOW).
If this whole thing sounds familiar (besides the comparisons to Statham’s wheelman series), it’s because the project has been kicking around for ages. Adrien Brody was attached a while back with HIGHLANDER director Russell Mulcahy, but Brad Pitt and Jan de Bont (SPEED) were once on board years before.
