Lost guy Damon Lindelof is rewriting the Alien prequel?

The first two ALIEN movies are among my all-time favorite films, but even I’m not as interested in the story of the “Space Jockey” as Ridley Scott seems to be.

The filmmaker has been discussing his xenomorph prequel(s) for quite a while, and his plans to focus on mankind’s interactions with the giant race that inadvertently delivered the alien death machines to LV426 in their funky horseshoe ship. He had a script by Jon Spaihts, but that seems to be getting a rewrite, and Scott will reportedly make another movie before his return to the lethal extraterrestrials.

According to Deadline, “Lost” co-creator Damon Lindelof is now taking a stab at the script. They claim that “Lindelof indeed met with Scott and the studio for that rewrite job, the exchange of ideas between them sparked a take that could well turn out to be a free-standing science fiction film.”

I really hope those ideas didn’t include a huge stone cork that keeps the Aliens in their hive.
