Cage gets Angry in 3D

JoBloJoBlo

Nicolas Cage has signed on to star in DRIVE ANGRY, an upcoming revenge thriller to be shot in 3D. Patrick Lussier, who had a good deal of success with MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D earlier this year, will direct the film based on a script he wrote with Todd Farmer. The film will star Cage as a father who hits the road to avenge the death of his daughter and the kidnapping of his grandchild. As you can imagine, this road trip doesn’t involve a stationwagon or a stop at Denny’s for breakfast. As described, “the chase gets bloodier by the mile, leaving bodies strewn along the highway.”

Like this morning’s announcement of RAMBO 5, ANGRY is financed by Nu Image/Millennium and also like RAMBO 5, it follows the post-TAKEN theme of revenge against child abductors. Familiarity or not this is the perfect kind of film, an over-the-top 3D car revenge flick, for Nic Cage. Filming on ANGRY is expected to begin shooting next spring in Louisiana.
