Time Traveler’s TV?

JoBloJoBlo

From everything I’ve heard, Audrey Niffenegger’s novel “The Time Traveler’s Wife” is a wonderful, touching and heartbreaking book. From everything I’ve heard the Eric Bana/Rachel McAdams movie based off that book is none of those things. That didn’t stop the film from a successful opening weekend and now Warner Bros. is looking to continue the saga of THE TIME TRAVELER’S WIFE on TV with an hour-long series that you’ll never watch. Warner Bros. TV, ABC and “Friends” executive producer Marta Kaufman are currently developing a weekly series based on the book. Word is that a possible TV series has been in the works for years (the book was published back in 2003) but that the film’s recent success led to ABC giving a pilot commitment to the series.

Like some kind of romantic “Quantum Leap,” the story will tell the story of the woman and her time traveling love as they romance each other and engage themselves in standalone adventures along the way. It’s unclear if any of the film’s producers, notably Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston, will be involved in any way with exec producing the TV series.
