In my opinion, Jonah Hill is easily one of the Top 5 funniest people working today (please don’t ask me about the rest of that list cause I haven’t worked it all out yet). He was the secret weapon in FUNNY PEOPLE and was able to turn a 5-minute cameo in NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2 into the funniest part of that otherwise pretty laughless movie. I’m looking forward to his first lead role in next year’s GET HIM TO THE GREEK and now we have another Jonah project to look forward to.
Hill has signed on to star in and produce THE BEST THING ABOUT PAM ROONEY, a pitch sold to Universal by FUNNY PEOPLE producers Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O’Brien. No details on the plot of the film were announced but it was described as a “high concept romantic comedy.” Because a script hasn’t even been written yet, ROONEY could be a ways off for Hill. Once he wraps GREEK, he’ll move on to THE ADVENTURER’S HANDBOOK with Jason Schwartzman and director Akiva Schaffer.
