Transformers 3 NOT 3-D

At the final night award ceremony at ShoWest, Michael Bay kept the press waiting and waiting, long after the stars of SORORITY ROW, Dennis Quaid and Chris Pine had come and gone. But once he finally arrived, Bay didn’t waste any time speaking his mind. Though a running theme of this year’s ShoWest was 3D technology, Bay called 3D a “gimmick” and a “fad.”. When asked about the rumor that TRANSFORMERS 3 would be in 3D, he answered flatly and definitively, “No.” Bay stopped short of confirming that he’ll definitely direct TF3 but said that he did speak to Paramount about the previously announced release date and said that they’ve resolved the issue (Paramount wants 2011, he said that he’d only do it if it were 2012).
