So, surprise, surprise, there’s a remake of “Gilligan’s Island” in the works. However, creator Sherwood Schwartz, and his son Lloyd Schwartz recently spoke to “TV Guide” and mentioned that they’d like none other than lovable geek Michael Cera to play the bumbling, red shirt and white hat wearing Gilligan. And if that wasn’t surprising enough, they also want bootylicious pop empress Beyonce Knowles to play movie star Ginger. While speaking with “TV Guide” during his induction into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, he further mentioned that a deal “just happened in the last 48 hours.” What kinda deal? Who knows but the adventures of some peeps stranded on a desert island may just be coming to a theater near you in the near future. With Michael Cera. And Beyonce.
