DOUBT

The first trailer for John Patrick Shanley’s drama DOUBT, which he wrote and directed and is based on his own play of the same name, has hit the internets and holy hell, does this thing have Oscar-bait written all over it. In it, Phillip Seymour Hoffman stars as a Catholic school priest who’s accused of playing kissy face with a student by a stern, uptight nun (Meryl Streep). The Oscar-baity-ness of it isn’t all that off-putting, though, since the flick looks like it packs quite the dramatic punch and Streep in particular seems to rock the shit out of this role. Click to check it out. Doubt is cast over Hoffman’s pedophilia on December 12th.
