Justin Long has confirmed that ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 2 is in development. “Oh yeah… They’re doing it… I just got that call… So that’s going to be fun,” he told MTV. The first film achieved the impossible by grossing over $200 million, and in the process, becoming the most successful talking animal/live-action cartoon adaptation of all time. So yeah, all of you out there that either voluntarily went to see that movie, or allowed yourself to be dragged to it by a girlfriend/boyfriend have only yourselves to blame. The only people who get a free pass are those of you who took your kids, although time will tell whether your children ever forgive you for that transgression. I imagine when they turn 15 or 16 and remember what you did, it’ll be like that scene on the rooftop at the end of Timur Bekmambetov’s NIGHTWATCH.
