In Theaters Friday

JoBloJoBlo

In Theaters Friday is a weekly column that provides you with early word on the latest trailers playing in front of the newest movies.

Hey everybody I’m back with more trailer news. This weekend showcases two new comedies for you to pick from. One is for the family and the other is for the kid in all of us (but not exactly for kids). Hang tight and let’s see what’s doin’.

In widest release this weekend, KUNG FU PANDA stars the voices of Jack Black, Dustin Hoffman, and, of course, Angelina Jolie (she must spend more time voicing characters than making out with Brad Pitt). Early reviews are pretty good and I expect the movie will bring in some decent cash this weekend. Everyone knows that the panda is the new penguin (not chihuahua). Trailers looking for placement include MADAGASCAR GREAT ESCAPE 2 AFRICA, HOTEL FOR DOGS, MARKEY & ME, THE LONGSHOTS, KIT KITTREDGE, PINK PANTHER 2, FLY ME TO THE MOON, THE EXPRESS, STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, and WALL-E.

Faring not as well with reviewers, YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN stars Adam Sandler as a former Israeli special forces officer… who is now a hair dresser?! Yup, that wacky plot seems to be the brainchild of Sandler, Judd Apatow, and Robert Smigel. I can’t seem to tell if this is going to be LITTLE NICKY-bad or CLICK-bad. Either way, I’m really not interested. If you go, you should see some of these trailers beforehand THE LOVE GURU, WANTED, THE ROCKER, HANCOCK, STEP BROTHERS, and GET SMART.

Have a great weekend folks!

Disclaimer: Not every theater plays exactly the same trailers in front of each movie. Your best bet is to call ahead and ask a manager for as much information as possible. We try our hardest to get you the best information, but nothing is guaranteed.
