After the success of SEX AND THE CITY, this film called THE WOMEN looks like it could crack the all-time top ten. Or it could just be the LIPSTICK JUNGLE of the movie world—another SATC knock-off—and tank. But this is some cast. Meg Ryan, Annette Benning, Jada Pinkett-Smith, Debra Messing, Bette Midler, Candice Bergen, and of course, Eva Mendes seem to be having a lot of fun in this estrogen-filled romp. The plot centers “ on a group of gossipy, high-society women who spend their days at the beauty salon and haunting fashion shows.” Shit, I was wrong. This isn’t like SEX AND THE CITY at all.
