David O. Russell, the director who brought you THREE KINGS, I HEART HUCKABEES and perhaps his greatest masterstroke “Flipping The F*ck Out”, has struck again. Perhaps more famous for losing his shit on the set of HUCKABEES, Russell might very well have done it again. James Caan reportedly walked off the set of Russell’s latest film NAILED while filming in South Carolina. And not just walked off, went home to cool down and returned the next day. More like walked off, went home, stayed there and phoned in his official resignation. Caan’s publicist confirms the news (first reported by the NY Post) saying, “James Caan did amicably part ways with this production due to creative differences.” I’m assuming that both parties were so pissed at each they were happy to see each other go. No word on who will step in to replace Caan who was co-starring with Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel in the political comedy. Doesn’t Jimmy Caan have e-mail? Did no one forward him that video??
