Amy Smart (the girlfriend), Dwight Yoakam (the doctor) and Efren Ramirez (the cross-dresser) will be back for CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE, with Bai Ling joining as, that’s right you guessed it, a hooker. The film is of course the continuation of 2006’s CRANK, which was certainly enough fun to warrant a sequel. Bai Ling’s character will apparently be obsessively pursuing Chev Chelios for romantic reasons and will team up with him to hunt down the Chinese mobster who has stolen his heart. Literally. When asked to comment writer/director team Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor said “Yeah, Maggie Q, Lucy Liu, Zhang Ziyi, Kelly Hu, and every other smokin’ hot Asian chick turned us down, so, you know, whatever.”
CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE will see Jason Statham return as Chelios, who this time faces the aforementioned Chinese mobster who has stolen his nearly indestructible heart and replaced it with a battery-powered ticker that requires regular jolts of electricity to keep working.
