Blindness teaser

JoBloJoBlo

BLINDNESS, the new film from visionary director Fernando Meirelles (THE CONSTANT GARDENER) has gotten itself a teaser. You can check it out over HERE. The film is based on a book by Jose Saramago and is about an epidemic that causes blindness in a modern city, resulting in the collapse of society. And it looks good. Although I mean, you would expect that. Putting Meirelles and a Nobel Prize winner together is like what happened when the first guy decided to put peanut butter and jelly together. Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Gael Garcia Bernal and a pirate version of Danny Glover star (2008 is officially the year of the eye-patch). Something to note in the teaser: as the bookies had expected, a switch to blonde is not enough to stop Julianne Moore being stupidly attractive.

I think CITY OF GOD is – gasp – somewhat overrated, but if THE CONSTANT GARDENER and this new teaser are anything to go by, this should be a helluva good film. Also, there’s a CHILDREN OF MEN vibe to this, right?
