Dirtier Harry?!

If you’ve been cheating on us and getting your film news elsewhere (don’t even think about calling AITH, he hates you too, and we want the mug back, you know, the one with the heart made out of tetris blocks that says “you complete me” on it), then you’ve probably heard about this rumor about Clint Eastwood’s GRAN TORINO actually being a secret new Dirty Harry film. I was kinda skeptical about it and didn’t want to run with it until we’d gathered a little more intel. I still don’t have anything conclusive, but FilmJerk claims to. You can check out their piece over HERE, which basically says that through logical deduction it would be extremely unlikely that another Dirty Harry film is in the works, at least with that plot that’s been going around, and also that the film is instead “a simple, quiet and compelling drama about Walt (Eastwood), a rural bigot who finds his outlook on life changed after a family of Hmong immigrants move in to the home next to his own, striking up a friendship with the family’s teenaged son Tao over the older man’s now-classic car.”

Of course, this is far from conclusive, but it seems more plausible to me by far. You can check out the original rumor over HERE. And also, just to round this out, Movieweb are championing the idea that it might be another Dirty Harry film too. Good lord, who knows what is going on??? That’s right, 3 question marks!
