Speed Racer in IMAX

When I was a kid I always used to see those Lucky Charms adverts and wish I could get to the end of the rainbow, so I could see what one would look like up close. Fortunately I’ll be able to find out this Summer since SPEED RACER is gonna be released in IMAX. I can’t imagine what this thing is gonna be like on massive screens or whether human brains are capable of withstanding such relentless assaults of color, but I’d recommend paying neighborhood kids to stand around and throw Skittles at you for at least an hour a day to try and prepare yourself. Opinion seems to have been pretty diametric in regards the trailer we saw a while back, but I thought it looked great and I’m pretty excited about it. The story, of course, follows young Speed (Emile Hirsch) and his quest for racing glory. There’s probably another trailer on the horizon, so if you ain’t sold yet you might be before the Summer. The film co-stars John Goodman, Susan Sarandon, Matthew Fox, the super cute Christina Ricci, and a monkey.
