No Hell for young Page

JoBloJoBlo

Newly A-listed youngster Ellen Page was gathering projects like the proverbial rolling snowball, but that avalanche has subsided a bit — she’s suddenly no longer involved with the previously announced DRAG ME TO HELL, director Sam Raimi’s anticipated return to his horror roots.

It’s a “scheduling conflict”, according to Raimi’s production company Ghost House: “We were racing to start production so that we could accommodate Ellen’s schedule. But like so many other productions trying to start before the potential SAG strike date, this one needed more time and we had to push back the start of production.

But Bloody Disgusting has a different spin on that spin, claiming it was either post-Oscar cold feet, or she had problems with the script (maybe not enough random catchphrases or character quirks, honest to blog, LAWL). Either way, Raimi will be swiftly recasting the part for his movie, described as a “morality tale about the unwitting recipient of a supernatural curse.”

Page continues to build steam (as both an actress and a curiously pervasive object of desire) with Drew Barrymore’s roller derby project and the recently announced thriller PEACOCK, with Cillian Murphy.
