More Wolvie casting!

JoBloJoBlo

Variety today confirmed the castings of Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Kitsch in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE (the former as Deadpool and the latter as Gambit) while adding a new name to the mix: William J. Adams. Who?! He’s perhaps better known by his stage name will.i.am while he’s with the Black Eyed Peas. The rapper will make his acting debut in WOLVERINE in a role that has yet to be revealed (IESB now reports he’ll be playing John Wraith/Kestrel one of the original members of the Weapon X program alongside Sabretooth and Silver Fox). At first I was beginning to enjoy these castings but now I’m wondering if Marvel and Fox are pushing this agenda at the expense of the script. Neither Gambit nor Deadpool were in the draft of the script I read which was 2/3 a great movie (the last act needed some work). Obviously Benioff (and perhaps an unnamed ghost writer) have been doctoring the script but how hard are they pushing to fit in cameos just for recognition sake (hey look it’s Gambit!)? There’s still plenty of casting to be announced so stay tuned for more as things develop from the New Zealand set…
