In probably the best news of the day, Michael Caine – when asked his thoughts on THE DARK KNIGHT – has told MTV that “I’ll tell you who it’s about. It’s about Heath Ledger as The Joker. He will be the talking point of the next Batman.” It’s getting to the point now where there’s going to be no way the movie can possibly meet my ridiculous expectations. To top it off, Caine added that Ledger’s is “one of the scariest performances I’ve ever seen.” Hopefully this is the Joker that the comic book purists have been dying to see, finally. I remember reading stuff like the Arkham Asylum graphic novel and the the guy looked monstrous, not just like a lunatic with a white face. TDK has Batman and James Gordon teaming up with Gotham’s new District Attorney, Harvey Dent to take on a psychotic bank robber known as… well… you know who. He laughs a lot.
