AICN claims to have a pretty reliable scoop that Bill Murray will have a recurring cameo in next summer’s television remake GET SMART as Agent 13. I vaguely recall watching the GET SMART television series when I was younger, but I must have, since the character of Agent 13 sounds familiar to me. He’s the KONTROL agent who keeps popping up in random places, like washing machines and trash cans. The news has not been officially confirmed, but AICN claims its source to be a highly reliable one, and this does sound about right to me. I already expect Murray’s scenes to be some of the funniest in what looks like it’s going to be a very funny movie (although David Koechner has the ability to steal any scene he’s in). Apparently the footage at Comic-Con killed. GET SMART stars Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway, and hits theatres on June 20 2008.
