Here we go with a new picture of SPEED RACER’s crazy slick Mach 5. I never really saw much of the cartoon when I was a kid, but for some reason I’m just so sure this film is gonna be incredible. Maybe it’s because Christina Ricci is a cutie, but most probably it’s because the Wachowskis (lifestyle choices/sequels aside) are awesome. Emile Hirsch hasn’t really done it for me yet, but I love the aforementioned Ricci as his girl, and I think that the casting of Matthew Fox (as Racer X) is pure genius.
For those of you who don’t know, SPEED RACER is the story of a young race car driver who chases his dream of glory, with the help of his family and the Mach 5, a technologically advanced car designed by his father (John Goodman). The film will apparently be shot almost entirely in front of the green screen.
