Evan’s almighty adverts

JoBloJoBlo

This is certainly not the summer to skimp on movie promotion. You’ve got SPIDEY, PIRATES, DIE HARD, TRANSFORMERS, BOURNE and a bunch of other major movies that are demanding attention, so why then is there no love for EVAN ALMIGHTY? Apparently this is the question that writer/director Tom Shadyac is asking of Universal. Shadyac is quoted as saying

“I’m not seeing any ads, and I don’t know why. I’m not getting answers. People are giving me information that isn’t true … I’m only hearing about all the other summer movies, and nothing about mine.”

And to a degree, it’s pretty true. I haven’t heard a thing about EVAN ALMIGHTY. And while it’s possible that Universal may be trying to save some of the money they spent making it, it would probably be better to do the whole mega marketing campaign thing and then make the money back because everyone wants to see your movie. Personally, I don’t really care about this film (totally unnecessary in my opinion), but I still feel for the guy. Plus the he made DRAGONFLY. He needs all the help he can get.
