MTV Movie Awards 2007

Not only is pot-stirring reality show superproducer Mark Burnett taking over producing duties of the 2007 MTV Movie Awards but the show will, for the first time, be broadcast live, which means the magnitude of shit that’s sure to go wrong will be so overwhelming, MTV higher-ups will be wishing for the days of an exposed Janet Jackson nipple. In any case, the nominees are out and it seems the comic-based stylistic beefcake warrior actioner 300 leads the pack with five nominations, followed closely behind by PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN’S CHEST, which managed to snag four nominations.

In addition to opening a Pandora’s box of mayhem by airing the show live, they’ve also added two new categories – “Best Summer Movie You Haven’t Seen Yet” and “Best Movie Spoof”. For the latter, anyone is welcome to participate by submitting their spoofs to THIS SITE and letting people vote on it. And speaking of voting, it will continue until May 29th either through the show’s OFFICIAL SITE, by texting “MOVIES” to 22422, calling 1-877-MTV-VOTE or texting your vote during the actual broadcast where one category will be left open. The show airs June 3rd with Sarah Silverman bringing her patented brand of uproariously racist humor to host. Check out the full list of nominees below.
