Like that crazy guy on the street corner perpetually yammering on about unicorns and alien invasions (in his underwear, no less), David Duchovny has been insisting for the better part of the decade that a sequel to the X-FILES movie is thisclose to becoming a reality. Last month, he started his sequel talk anew but this time, shockingly enough, there may be some substance to his ranting. Gillian Anderson, who played Mulder’s eternally skeptical lifemate Dana Scully, while recently promoting her upcoming thriller STRAIGHTHEADS, spoke to Empire Online about a possible sequel and had this to say: “They’re starting to talk about doing a feature again. Every year or two they talk about it again, but it seems like it might be for real this time. Somehow it seems like somebody’s really serious about it. I know that Chris’ lawsuit with Fox is over, so maybe now it can be done.” Whaaa? Like his alien seeking television counterpart, has Duchovny’s incessant ranting actually helped him prevail? Maybe. The truth, as the show once so boldly declared, is out there. Read the rest of what Anderson had to say HERE.
