The holiday season is right around the corner, kicking off with Halloween in less than two weeks. But this time, the fun doesn't end with New Year's. The X-Files reboot will be kicking off in January, so it looks like 2016 might be peaking early for sci-fi fans.

To promote the show, a brand new poster shows off William B. Davis' mysterious Smoking Man. Although he was… incapacitated during the series finale, the shadowy baddie is back in a big way. Check out the image below, and keep an eye on tonight's episode of Gotham (8/7c), which will air an exclusive new promo for The X-Files! I mean, how else will they get people to watch Gotham?

The series premiere, "My Struggle", centers on Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigating Annet Mahendru's character, who is believed to be a "possible alien abductee," according to Joel McHale's character, a conservative talk show host who gives Mulder and Scully the tip to investigate her.

With original cast members Mitch Pileggi, Sheila Larken, Annabeth Gish, and The Lone Gunmen also set to return, joining newcomers Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose, The X-Files will beam onto Fox with a six-episode season on January 24, 2016, to be continued on Mondays at 8PM.
