With entries in the anthologies V/H/S and THE ABCs OF DEATH behind them, and S-VHS and the long-awaited YOU’RE NEXT coming out later this year, director Adam Wingard and his writer Simon Barrett have set their sights on their next feature, a dark action thriller called THE GUEST.
The film will focus on a soldier on leave who befriends the family of a fallen comrade, only to become a threat to all around him when it’s revealed he’s hiding dangerous secrets from his past.
HanWay Films will handle international sales at the upcoming European Film Market, while Keith Calder and Jessica Wu of Snoot Entertainment (YOU’RE NEXT, BUNRAKU) will produce.
Wingard and Barrett also collaborated on A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE and AUTO EROTIC and have a project set up at Warner Bros called DEAD SPY RUNNING. THE GUEST will commence production in May.
