So you’ve trashed one great thriller film, now
what do you do? You make a remake of a remake and probably ruin another, that’s
what you do!
It’s been reported by PR-Inside that Nicholas
Cage is trying to land the part of Seth Brundle in the remake of the 1986
classic
THE FLY. The character was originally played by
Jeff Goldblum when the flick was remade by David Cronenberg.
PR-Inside claims that this info has come from
Cronenberg himself, who is not actually directing the film, but being kept on
the peripherals about it.
After what happened last year with Cage’s
WICKER MAN I can’t believe he wants to attempt to tackle another
classic like this. Goldblum definitely left some big shoes to fill for the roll,
not to mention the gap left by Cronenberg. To read the full (but brief) article

Also, why the f**k are they remaking this? It
came out like 20 years ago. This business of remaking everything is becoming
absolutely ridiculous!
