It’s time for a new episode of our video game-themed video series Playing with Fear, and this one is covering one of the rare video games that I have a great fondness for, the 2003 release Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick. I haven’t played many games in the last twenty years, but Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick is one that I have played, and I had a lot of fun with it. To hear the Playing with Fear take on the game, check out the video embedded above.

IMDb user Ben Duzniak provides the following synopsis for Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick:

After a television station broadcasts the Book of the Dead tape live on air, the town of Dearborn is taken over by Deadites. Ash, armed with his chainsaw, trusty boomstick and other weapons such as shovels, flamethrowers and guns, must search the town to save the citizens from being infected by the Deadites and to save the town from being overrun by the unspeakable horrors which have spawned from the Necronomicon.

Episodes in the Playing with Fear series take

a look at the most impactful, successful, and scariest video games throughout the history of the medium and deciding if they’re still worth playing today.

Playing with Fear is Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Tyler Nichols, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
