Bill & Ted Face the Music in new trailer and poster!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It has been twenty-nine years since we last saw Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan, but the characters we followed on an excellent adventure and a bogus journey have finally returned. BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC is set to reach theatres this year, and today a trailer has arrived online to give us a preview of what the guys are up to this time around.

Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves are back in the roles of Bill and Ted, and they're joined in the cast by Samara Weaving as Bill's daughter Thea, Brigette Lundy-Paine as Ted's daughter Billie, William Sadler as Death / the Grim Reaper, and Scott "Kid Cudi" Mescudi as himself.

Directed by Dean Parisot from a screenplay by franchise writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon, BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC has the following synopsis:

When we last met Bill and Ted they were time-traveling teenagers trying to pass history class and win the battle of the bands. Once prophesized to save the universe with their rock and roll, middle age and the responsibilities of family have caught up with these two best friends who have not yet fulfilled their destiny. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever written. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns our heroes that only their song can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it. Together with the aid of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures, and some sympathetic music legends, Bill and Ted find much, much more than just a song.

Kristen Schaal, Anthony Carrigan, Erinn Hayes, Jayma Mays, Jillian Bell, Holland Taylor, Beck Bennett, Hal Landon Jr., and Amy Stoch are also in the cast.

Scott Kroopf, Alex Lebovici, and Steve Ponce produced the long-awaited sequel, with Steven Soderbergh, R. Scott Reid, John Ryan Jr., and John Santilli serving as executive producers.

Audiences were first introduced to Bill and Ted in 1989's BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE. The characters returned two years later in BILL & TED'S BOGUS JOURNEY. BILL & TED FACE THE MUSIC is set to reach theatres on August 21, 2020.

In addition to the trailer, a new poster for the film has also been released online and can be seen below.

I grew up on the Bill and Ted movies, so I look forward to facing the music with them later this year.
