Grief is an arduous and unpredictable process, and today Warner Bros. Pictures and Amazon Studios is exploring those themes with their trailer for THE GOLDFINCH.
Based on the acclaimed best-selling novel of the same name by author Donna Tartt, which won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Fiction, director John Crowley's upcoming adaptation stars Ansel Elgort (BABY DRIVER) as Theo Decker and Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman (THE OTHERS, BIG LITTLE LIES) as Mrs. Barbour.

Theodore “Theo” Decker was 13 years old when his mother was killed in a bombing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The tragedy changes the course of his life, sending him on a stirring odyssey of grief and guilt, reinvention and redemption, and even love. Through it all, he holds on to one tangible piece of hope from that terrible day…a painting of a tiny bird chained to its perch. The Goldfinch.
Also set to star in the adaptation of Tartt's classic work are Oakes Fegley (PETE'S DRAGON) as Young Theo, Aneurin Barnard (DUNKIRK) as Boris, Finn Wolfhard (Netflix's STRANGER THINGS, IT) as Young Boris, with Sarah Paulson (AMERICAN HORROR STORY, GLASS) as Xandra, Luke Wilson (BOTTLE ROCKET, OLD SCHOOL) as Larry, and Jeffrey Wright (WESTWORLD, THE HUNGER GAMES films) as Hobie. Rounding out the main ensemble cast are Ashleigh Cummings (HOUNDS OF LOVE, PUBERTY BLUES) as Pippa, Willa Fitzgerald (LITTLE WOMEN, BLOOD MONEY) as Kitsey Barbour, Aimee Laurence (IRON FIST, THE PATH) as Young Pippa, Denis O’Hare (THE PROPOSAL, GARDEN STATE) as Lucius Reeve, and Boyd Gaines (FUNNY GAMES, PORKY'S) as Mr. Barbour.
