A killer for Giallo

UPDATE: Our man Eric recently swapped some words with GIALLO screenwriter Sean Keller and Mr. Keller had the following tidbits for us: Apparently both Ray Liotta and Asia Argento have LEFT THE PROJECT. Adrien Brody is actually replacing Liotta in the film, not Gallo. Unfortunately this means Mr. Brody won’t be playing a sadistic killer… I can still hope for it one day. Emmanuelle Seigner is apparently replacing Asia Argento. No word yet on if Gallo is still on the project or not seeing how Asia Argento has left. Argento and Liotta both cite personal reasons for dropping out of the project. We’ll keep you updated as we hear more.

The last we told you about Dario Argento’s GIALLO, Vincent Gallo dropped out of the cast. His reason? Because the gorgeous Asia Argento was also cast, and apparently the two have a jaded history.

I don’t get it either. Asia Argento is HOT. So Gallo dropping out left the film without a leading man. Well according to The Hollywood Reporter, the new leading man has been found!

And his name is Adrien Brody (right). I could see this casting going either way, personally, I’m stoked! GIALLO is about a serial killer (Brody) and the detective (Ray Liotta) who has long been tracking him. The plot revolves around the snatching of a fashion model (Elsa Pataky) just as her flight attendant sister (Asia Argento) jets to Milan to meet her on a shoot.

Brody playing a serial killer? I’m fishing for words to explain my excitement. The Hollywood Reporter also dropped another name joining the cast, Emmanuelle Seigner, and they confirmed the absolutely breathtaking Elsa Pataky (below) signing on.

Brody has also signed onto executive produce with Oscar Generale, Claudio Argento, Luis De Val, David Milner, Billy Dietrich, Patricia Eberle, Donald Barton and John Hicks. Rafael Primorac and Richard Rionda Del Castro are producing.

GIALLO was written by the duo of Sean Keller and Jim Agnew, with horror legend Dario Argento directing. Production is set to start in Torino, Italy on May 12 before moving to Los Angeles for post production work.
