A Matter of Time: Ben Stiller, Nicholas Galitzine, and Bella Maclean to lead Harry Bradbeer’s “unlikely angel” film

Ben Stiller chooses his Hollywood projects carefully these days, so whenever he does sign on for something, it’s a big deal. Today, we’re hearing about his next film, A Matter of Time, from the camera of Harry Bradbeer. Netflix announced the project on Wednesday during its upfronts presentation in New York City, and the concept sounds like something sweet and poignant. So far, the film stars Ben Stiller (Zoolander, Severance, Tropic Thunder), Nicholas Galitzine (Masters of the Universe, Red, White, & Royal Blue), and Bella Maclean (Rivals, Sex Education), with Bradbeer directing from a script by Justin Haythe, Madeleine George, Peter Byrne, and Simon Beaufoy.

According to the film’s description, A Matter of Time focuses on an “unlikely angel” who ventures from heaven to encourage a reclusive man to give up his life for the betterment of society. Although the man agrees, the encounter gives his life new focus and leads him to a romance that could alter the course of history.

Debra Hayward and Larry Mark serve as producers for the Sony Pictures project.

Stiller’s ready to get Focked-up

Stiller’s Focker-in-Law sequel is in post-production, with Robert De Niro, Ariana Grande, Owen Wilson, Teri Polo, Beanie Feldstein, and Skyler Gisondo leading the cast. In the upcoming comedy, a young man named Henry (Gisondo), son of Greg and Pam Focker, faces family chaos when he decides to marry a strong-willed woman (Grande) who appears to be his complete mismatch.

Game-set-match

Stiller also stars in The Dink, a comedy about a washed-up tennis pro who tries to save a club by reluctantly playing pickleball to earn his father’s respect. Stiller, Christine Taylor, Ed Harris, Mary Steenburgen, Patton Oswalt, Jake Johnson, Wayne Wilderson, Chris Parnell, and Chloe Fineman star.

What would you do if an angel knocked on your door with a life-altering ultimatum to save humanity? Would you abandon your quiet life for the sake of strangers? Would you investigate the angel’s offer, looking for loopholes? Is finding love a force powerful enough for you to put the fate of humankind on the back burner? I suppose it depends on who you ask. We’ll find out the answers to these questions and more when A Matter of Time arrives on screens.
