I have said it time and again; I am a sucker for short horror films. I am always on the lookout for them, and I now have a new one to place at the top of the ‘must see list’.
The official trailer for the Finnish short film simply titled ‘8’ has gone live, and it looks fantastic! The trailer boasts a creepy and chilling atmosphere, enough to really draw you in. I have it for you below, along with a handful of great stills. The full version of the film will be made available for digital download at the end of the month.

‘8’ looks inside the fractured mind of man and through the darkness that lives in us all. It also explores the powerful defence mechanisms that protect us from going insane. We all have a trauma we don’t want to remember, so we deny it, alter the memory or forget it completely. What happens if the defence mechanisms fail?
Linda is a young psychology student, who wants to help his boyfriend Riku, who has fallen into a state of psychosis by taking him to a mystical cave, where human subconscious and memories start to live their own life. Linda soon realises that she can’t help Riku, before she has faced her own most painful traumas.
‘8’ stars Salla Juntunen, Antti Launonen and Pekka Laiho, it was written and directed by Miro Laiho.
