A Perfect delay

A PERFECT GETAWAY is one of those films that had completely fallen off my radar until this morning. Starring Milla Jovovich, Timothy Olyphant, Steve Zahn, and Marley Shelton, and directed by David Twohy, the film was originally supposed to be released on March 13th, 2009. Which would have been insane, since not a single ounce of marketing has been shed on it yet.

The film revolves around a married couple on a honeymoon in Haiwaii as they discover they’re being stalked by a pair of killers. Nothings says crappy vacation like being stalked and killed! MGM seemed to have rethought their decision for a March release, and have officially slated A PERFECT GETAWAY with an ambiguous 2009 release date.

This could mean anything from ‘they don’t know’ when to release it yet, or ‘they’re putting it on the shelf’ for who knows how long. That said, according to the film’s IMDb profile, the film is scheduled to be released in August 2009. Again, no date, just a month and a year. All we really do know is that it won’t be released on March 13th as originally planned.
