A special greeting from director Gareth Edwards on the set of Godzilla plus footage of soldiers during filming

Gareth Edwards' reboot of the GODZILLA franchise will be in theaters this time next year and the director took a break from filming the movie to record a special greeting. The video doesn't show us anything but the director talking, however Edwards does tease that there are six hundred extras just off camera and it was also Elizabeth Olsen's first day of filming for the movie.

GODZILLA is currently filming in British Columbia and Vacinity Films has some actual footage of the filming. It's nothing that will get you that excited since the video just shows some military vehicles and soldiers running around but it's still a cool little glimpse behind the scenes.

I'm very interested in seeing how GODZILLA turns out. I think Gareth Edwards is a good choice to direct the film, even if I only enjoyed MONSTERS and didn't love it. The cast is pretty solid as well so there is a chance GODZILLA will be awesome, or at least better than the 1998 film.

Besides Elizabeth Olsen the movie also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Bryan Cranston and David Strathairn, GODZILLA is out May 16th, 2014.
