Ah remakes. Nowadays they’re a dime a dozen, and out of all of them, how many are actually good? Hmmm. Let’s see….TCM was pretty good… and that’s about it. Oh well. Someday studios will learn it doesn’t pay to remake. Someday.
But not today, as Sony has just released it’s teaser poster for their upcoming remke of
WHEN A STRANGER CALLS, and I must admit… I kinda like it. I know it’s sacreligious cause it’s a remake and all, but I like where it’s going here. Present day twist with the cell phone camera, chick looks like she’s dying there… and there’s that hand in the background…not sure what to think about that. All in all, sweet poster, even if the flick will most likely suck.
Then again international action director Simon West is at the helm, he who brought us such fine films as CON AIR and TOMB RAIDER. Well, at least we know if it’s not gonna be good… at least it will be entertaining!
