Ackles gets Bloody 3D

Apparently SUPERNATURAL is a hot-shite series… who knew? Or at the very least, it’s the series producers go to when they’re remaking horror films from the 80s these days. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jensen Ackles (one half of the SUPERNATURAL team) has been cast as a lead in Lionsgate’s MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D!

Ackles is set to play Tom, a handsome, principled man who returns to his home in Harmony, Mo., 10 years after 22 people were murdered on Valentine’s night. Back in Montana, Tom finds he still is smitten with his first love, Sarah (Jaime King), and is now a murder suspect.

I never trust a slasher flick where the dude’s the main character–not that they said either way that Ackles here is the survivor at the end, nor is he the ‘lead’ — he’s just ‘a’ lead (as in, there are more than one!).

The other SUPERNATURAL star to hit it big in the 80s remake world is Jared Padalecki, who was recently cast in the new FRIDAY THE 13TH remake (check that shite out HERE). It looks like it’s gonna be the battle of the SUPERNATURAL star, as far as who’s gonna own in which remake!

Directed by Patrick Lussier, MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D is expected to start filming May 12, with a January 23, 2009 release date in mind(!). Stick around for more VALENTINE 3D casting as we hear it!
