50 Cent is out, Crews is in!
As always, we have an update on THE EXPENDABLES for you to start off the Action Round Up! This is, naturally, more casting news: Fitty Cent (Fiddy?), who only last week joined the cast, has already been replaced. Terry Crews, known primarily for his comedic roles (IDIOCRACY, GET SMART, WHITE CHICKS) will be taking over the role of “Hale Caesar”. Crews is also a former San Diego Charger, so the man is certainly intimidating enough.
Of course, the role was originally owned by Forest Whitaker, but he had to drop out because of a scheduling conflict. In a cast with names like Stallone, Rourke, Li, and Statham, I’m okay with Crews filling the void.
4 new NINJA pics!
Here are four new images from NINJA
(courtesy of
scottadkinsfanz), starring rising martial artist Scott Adkins. We’ve been keeping a regular eye on this flick, which is due to hit us across the face some time this year. (Of course, we’ll let you know when it has a solid release date.)
A westerner named Casey, studying Ninjutsu in Japan, is asked by the Sensei to return to New York to protect the legendary Yoroi Bitsu, an armored chest that contains the weapons of the last Koga Ninja.
Adkins can also be seen in WOLVERINE, which opens on MAY 1st.
Exclusive CRANK 2 clip!
Another Action Round-Up stand-by has been CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE, which comes out on April 16th. Today we’ve got an EXCLUSIVE clip from the batshit-insane flick for your prying eyes – check it out by clicking the box below!
And below you can see it appears that I’ve written CUNT on my forehead. Well, not exactly true – a special CRANK site did it for me! If you head on over to DoYouThinkI’veGotCuntWrittenOnMyForehead.com you can upload a pic of you or one of your buds and, well, I guess the rest is self-explanatory. What’s more fun than sending your pal a pic of himself looking the way everyone else sees him? Nothing, that’s what. (Except for maybe looking at Amy Smart naked… Yeah, that’s actually more fun.)
Seagal returns in DRIVEN TO KILL!
A few Round-Ups ago, I told you about a movie called RUSLAN, starring Seagal as a pissed off former hitman gunning for the Russian mob. Well, I’m pleased to tell you that the film finally has a release date, under a new title: DRIVEN TO KILL. Twentieth Century Fox will toss this baby on the DVD and Blu-Ray shelves MAY 19th.
Seagal stars as Ruslan Drachev, a highly-respected former enforcer in the New York-based Russian Mob, who long ago abandoned the gangland lifestyle to pursue a more peaceful career as a crime novelist. But his world is turned upside down when he learns that his daughter is engaged to marry a Russian gangster who also happens to be Ruslan’s cold-hearted nemesis from the bad old days. When a shocking act of brutality forces Ruslan to return to the sinister underbelly of his past, he must mete out his own merciless, murderous brand of justice, until no enemy is left standing!
