Action Round-Up #17

BASTERD character posters!

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS has been tossin’ posters at us like they’re the morning paper. But these are special, as they’re the first character posters for the Quentin Tarantino flick, which will have its world premiere in a couple weeks at the Cannes Film Festival. Now, I’m no gentleman, but it’s simply rude to call lovely ladies Melanie Laurent and Diane Kruger bastards. The other two guys, sure, they’ve earned it, but you call a lady a strumpet or wench like you’re s’posed to!

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS comes out in August, and is rumored to clock in around 2 hours and 40 minutes. QT likes his flicks long, so this is no real surprise. (DEATH PROOF was well over three hours, right?)

RED DAWN gets a date

We’ve known for over a year now that there is (for some reason) a remake of RED DAWN on the horizon. But only recently have we learned when we can expect it. Mark your calendars: SEPTEMBER 24, 2010 is when we’ll be invaded by… the Chinese?! Yeah, that’s the word, the Chinese are comin’. There’s a lot of them too, so we might be f*cked if those spunky American teens don’t get their shit together, pronto.

The screenplay was written by Carl Ellsworth (DISTURBIA, THE LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT remake) and will be directed by Dan Bradley, who has been a stunt coordinator and 2nd Unit Director for a long-ass time. No cast has yet been announced, but can we please get some of those High School Musical kids on the front lines? Maybe they’ll be taken out first…

NINJA trailer!

Hey, now THIS is what I’m talking about! This movie practically looks like it stepped through a wormhole in 1988 and ended up right here in our laps!

NINJA stars Scott Adkins, who is something of a rising star on the action scene. He just showed up in WOLVERINE as “Weapon XI”, but NINJA is his big ticket to glory. Well, maybe not glory, but perhaps we’ll do a REEL ACTION review of one of his flicks some day. That’s pretty damn close to glory!

New Jean-Claude posters!

Jean-Claude just keeps on cranking ’em out, eh? Here are two new posters for a couple of flicks I’m sure we’ll hear more about down the line, KARATE and THE EAGLE PATH. Jean Claude has been photoshopped to look slightly like Helo from “Battlestar Galactica”, but that’s okay, these are still pretty cool. If you want to dig on some pics and get wise to the plotlines from both films, head on over HERE.
