Halle Berry Vs. A Great White?!
To be perfectly honest, I have no idea if this flick will end up being ACTION ROUND UP-worthy. Not enough is known about its plot at the moment, but it’s being billed as an “action-thriller”, so that’s a start… What it comes down to is that chatting about this flick allows me to post a couple of super-sexy pictures of Halle Berry – and isn’t that what it’s all about?
The film in question is DARK TIDE (which is the sort of title you’d usually find on late-night cable), which Halle is in “advanced talks” to star in. DARK concerns a diving instructor who returns to the deep after a near-fatal incident with a Great White shark.
The flick will be directed by Clark Johnson (S.W.A.T., “The Shield”) and is scheduled to shoot in South Africa later this year. And now another hot Halle picture!
A-TEAM cast all set?
I keep forgetting there’s even an A-TEAM movie in the works, let alone gearing up with the quickness to meet a Summer 2010 release date. It’s been a few months since we heard any movement on the Joe Carnahan-helmed flick; during the summer it was revealed that Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper had been added to the cast, as Hannibal and Faceman, respectively (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, you obviously don’t know the A-Team!). But what of the other two important cogs; B.A. Baracus and “Howling Mad” Murdoch? Looks as though we might be close to makin’ this plan come together..
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (pictured above) has apparently been cast in the role made famous by one Mr. T. Jackson is a UFC fighter, which basically means he’s made a living beating the ever-loving hell out of people – so yeah, he’ll probably be a solid B.A… As for Murdoch, the site Blackfilm is reporting the role has been offered to Sharlto Copley (pictured below), who is now known the world over as the unlucky hero of DISTRICT 9. Another solid choice, if it works out…
THE A-TEAM is scheduled to open on June 11th.
New LAW ABIDING poster/still
We’ve got the final one-sheet, as well as a new photo, from the F. Gary Gray flick LAW ABIDING CITIZEN, starring Jamie Foxx and the omnipresent Gerard Butler. At one point in time, Frank Darabont was attached to direct this film, but ultimately stepped aside. Now it’s an F. Gary Gray joint… Nothing against the man, but I would be so much more excited about it if Darabont had remained on board. As it is, it looks cool, but not exceptional… Guess we’ll find out its worth on OCTOBER 16th.
Here’s the official synopsis: Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over his objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice.
Fast forward ten years. The man who got away with murder is found dead and Clyde Shelton coolly admits his guilt. Then he issues a warning to Nick: Either fix the flawed justice system that failed his family, or key players in the trial will die.
