12 Rounds Trailer Hits
Action maestro Renny Harlin directs MARINE star, wrestler, and wannabe Arnold Schwarzenegger John Cena in 12 ROUNDS. Check out the trailer HERE, and behold what happens when you combine SPEED and DIE HARD WITH A VENGEANCE into one PG-13 action movie. Color me nostalgic for mid-90s action flicks, but this puppy looks like a shitload of fun and then some, and considering it’s coming from Harlin, the man who graced us with DIE HARD 2, CLIFFHANGER, THE LONG KISS GOODNIGHT, and DEEP BLUE SEA, you know it’ll at least be entertaining!
Ninja Pics
We were supplied with some new pics from ASSASSIN, featuring new action star Scott Adkins. The guy has the martial arts skills to pay the bills, but we’re still on the fence as to whether he’s the next Chuck Norris or the next Michael Dudikoff. My money’s on Dudikoff. No release date for NINJA has been announced yet, so stick around when it is!
Promo Poster for Undisputed 3
Speaking of Scott Adkins, the good folks over at ScottAdkinsFanz.org sent us over the promo poster for Adkins’ upcoming UNIDSPUTED 3, which just goes to show that Adkins is yet another up and coming action star… though doing these crappy sequels is probably not going to guide his career in the right direction. Not much is known about the flick just yet, but for now… enjoy the new poster and call it a day.
New Posters for District 13: Ultimatum
For anyone looking for a running and jumping good time, be sure to check out the action extravanganza DISTRICT B-13. The film did such a bang-up job, they decided to go at it for a second round with DISTRICT 13: ULTIMATUM, and judging for the latest batch of new posters that just came out for this thing, we’re gonna be in for quite the ride!
In case you were wondering, the sequel goes like this: District 13, two years later. The government has changed, not the rest … The wall of isolation – ever higher, ever greater and Beyond – has spread around towns ghettos and gangs that have proliferated further increased their influence. The traffic is now divided among five ethnic neighborhoods, each headed by a fearsome gang leader. More than ever determined to “settle the problem,” the secret services voluntarily fire to the powder. Damien, a cop expert in martial arts, and Leito, able to sneak in every corner of the suburbs, make new team. Their goal: to save the city from chaos. Their program: Muscle and fighting for race-defying the laws of gravity.
Awesome. Totally awesome! The film hits theaters Wednesday, February 18th (!) in France, no word on when it’ll be released in North America.
J.C.V.D. talks Expendables
I was as surprised as the next guy when news came out that Jean-Claude Van Damme turned down a role in Sylvester Stallone’s THE EXPENDABLES… not only was I surprised, but I was shocked into disbelief. Why J.C.V.D., why??? Over at Total Film, Van Damme finally laid it out… here’s a taste of what he had to say: Stallone gave me a part in his next movie,” he told us. “But I ask him about the subject, about the story. He said, ‘You’re gonna make lots of money.’ I don’t want to hear that, I want to hear what was my character. He was unable to tell what it’s going to be.
Van Damme choosing roles based on characters over action? Looks like the J.C.V.D. star has really turned a new leaf… but is it for the better? Joining THE EXPENDABLES seemed like the perfect come-back opportunity, character or not, but at least the guy has a good reason for stepping down. To check out the full article, click HERE
