Action Round-Up #8

International CRANK 2 Poster!

There’s a brand new international poster for CRANK 2: HIGH VOLTAGE over at DVD Forum, and while it doesn’t kick nearly as much as the domestic posters (surprisingly enough), it does rock Jason Statham in “I’m going to shoot you” mode, and there ain’t nothing wrong with that!

The poster also has this 80s / 70s grindhouse action vibe going for it, which is pretty cool too. CRANK 2: HIGH VOLTAGE hits theaters everywhere April 17th.

Poster for FIGHTING!

A new poster for FIGHTING popped up over at Cinematical, and is it me, or does it feel like a throwback to ROCKY, emphasizing the man instead of the fight. I’m still not 100% sold on this thing, but considering it’s about fighting, it should at least be somewhat entertaining.

FIGHTING breaks into theaters everywhere April 24, 2009.

MEDIEVAL is Hyper-Action!

The Hollywood Reported dropped a line this week that New Regency Pictures just picked up the original script MEDIEVAL from writers Alex Litvak and Michael Finch, who describe the flick like this:
The script’s story line plays like THE DIRTY DOZEN in the age of castles, plagues and serfs, which the studio hopes to spin as a hyper-realistic action movie in the vein of 300.

I usually like my action with bullets and bare fists, but if done right, sword (and axe) fight action can be pulled off with flying colors. And if it’s truly a no-holds-barred action flick, I can already smell the buckets of blood this sucker will produce. Keep it here for more on MEDIEVAL, you know we’ll keep you posted where we can!
