Rock of Ages director in talks to helm Peter Dinklage’s Leprechaun comedy

Deadline is reporting Adam Shankman (ROCK OF AGES, HAIRSPRAY) is in talks to direct O'LUCKY DAY, a comedy about "a con man who may or may not be a real Leprechaun, but who certainly passes himself off as one" starring star Peter Dinklage. The tone of the film has been described as similar to BAD SANTA, so hopefully that means the film will be getting an R-rating.

We first learned about the movie back in October of 2013 when Dinklage joined the project, and the script was written by Andrew Dodge (BAD WORDS), with rewrites by FREDDY VS. JASON and FRIDAY THE 13TH (the 2009 reboot) scribes Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. According to Deadline, the plan is to start production once Dinklage finishes the next season of Game of Thrones.

O'LUCKY DAY could be a hilarious if done right, however I'm worried that it will end up being a little too silly, and I'm not a big fan of Adam Shankman's previous movies either. What are your thoughts on O'LUCKY DAY?

Game of Thrones returns on HBO on April 12, 2015, and Peter Dinklage's PIXELS will be in theaters on July 24, 2015.
