Adrien Brody is Wrecked, check out the deets and promo poster!

Who would of thought that less than a decade after scooping a Best Acting Oscar, Adrien Brody would become a go-to genre lead?

Over the last year alone, Brody played a detective in Dario Argento’s GIALLO, is set to wrangle dreadlocked aliens in Nimrod Antal’s PREDATORS and avoid interspecies lust in Vincenzo Natali’s SPLICE. Dude’s keeping it gory!

And it ain’t stopping there folks! You see, Brody assumes the lead in a new film called WRECKED, from feature first time director Michael Greenspan. And thanks to Peter S. of Slashfilm, a still (above) and promo poster (below) out of Cannes have been unrolled for the film. We’ve also got an official plot-crunch for the inevitable bloodbath underneath. Let’s tackle that shite…

From writer Christopher Dodd (no, not the politician), WRECKED follows:

A Man (Adrien Brody) who awakens in a mangled car-wreck at the bottom of a steep cliff. He’s injured, his legs are trapped, and he has no memory of who he is or how he got there. His only company – a crackling radio broadcast of a violent bank robbery gone wrong and a corpse in the back seat with a wallet identifying him as one of the perpetrators. As the man ventures beyond the wreckage, he must rely on his primal instincts, using anything he can find in the surrounding wilderness to increase his chances of survival. Confronted with overwhelming obstacles, both real and imagined, the Man must discover his identity and face the consequences of what that might be.

Sounds like the flipside of Stuart Gordon’s STUCK, which is a pretty entertaining flick. Hopefully this one follows suit!

Caroline Dhavernas, Ryan Robbins, Adrian Holmes and Jacob Blair round out the support.

WRECKED still holds an unspecified 2010 release window!

Brody also stars alongside Julia Ling in the 2010 flick HIGH SCHOOL!
