Well folks A&E’s two-part mini-series based on Stephen King’s BAG OF BONES has come and gone without so much as a whimper. Actually from what I saw the thing scored a mixed bag of reviews with the general opinion leaning more towards the ‘thumbs down’ side. Don’t worry if you missed it though, soon you’ll have another chance to check it out for yourself!
According to DVD Active, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have just announced that they’ll be dropping BAG OF BONES onto DVD this March! March 13th to be exact! Go ahead and mark it on your calenders… I’ll wait.
BAG OF BONES is the story of grief and lost love’s enduring bonds, an innocent child caught in a terrible crossfire and a new love haunted by past secrets. Bestselling novelist Mike Noonan, played by Pierce Brosnan, is unable to stop grieving after the sudden death of his wife Jo. A dream inspires him to return to the couple’s lakeside retreat in western Maine where he becomes involved in a custody battle between the daughter of an attractive young widow and the child’s enormously wealthy grandfather, the mysterious ghostly visitations, the ever-escalating nightmares and the realization that his late wife still has something to tell him.
All done? Unfortunately it seems the only special features will be two features: “Voicemail from Sid” and “I Miss You Jo.” Hey, beggers can’t be choosers right?
The Mick Garris adaptation stars Pierce Brosnan, Melissa George (below), Annabeth Gish, Anika Noni Rose, Caitlin Carmichael, William Schallert and Jason Priestley. Don’t forget to mark it down folks – BAG OF BONES hits DVD on March 13th!
