Two Clooney’s entered but only one Clooney could leave. Both George Clooney films UP IN THE AIR and MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS were scheduled to open within one week of each other causing, what industry analysts call, a “Clooney-itis” (symptoms include a self-deprecating sense of humor, a roguish smile and impeccable style). Because back-to-back Clooney is a good thing for no one except an Italian supermodel, someone had to move. With Clooney being the producer behind GOATS, it clearly was going to be UP IN THE AIR and that’s exactly what happened.
Paramount has shifted the release of UP IN THE AIR from November 13 to December 4, which will allow Clooney to properly promote both film (and narrowly avoid an outbreak of Clooney Flu). And as an added bonus, it gives the film an extra few weeks to build up the UP IN THE AIR buzz to even more ridiculous levels!
