Ok, maybe they didn’t announce the star, but like I said this is news to me, so here goes: Jessica Alba has been tapped to star in the flick based on the 2003 film by The Pang Brothers of the same name. I couldn’t be more stoked, as if you have to sit through a remake, it might as well feature the eye candy that is Jessica Alba. She’s a robo-babe if I ever saw one!
The remake, written by Sebastian Gutierrez and Hillary Seitz and directed by another duo director team, David Moreau and Xavier Palud, will be gearing up for a holiday release next year, specifically December 21, 2007. Quite a ways away, but at least it gives you something to look forward to next year, right?
Still not sure why they’re remaking it at all, the story revolves around a blind girl who gets an eye transplant to be able to see- the transplant works with flying colors, until she begins to see creepy ass ghosts as a side effect. Awesome. Hold on to your butts and get ready for THE EYE remake in theaters December 21, 2007.
