It’s been quite a while since we’ve heard anything from the PARADISE LOST camp. Actually… it’s been a little over a month. But in this industry you can go ahead and chalk that up as a while, right? Right.
Anyway today we’ve got a new update from the project for you guys but unfortunately it isn’t a good one… According to Deadline New York the film’s January start-date has been pushed back due to budget concerns. I know, major bummer. But let’s not lose hope just yet… This type of thing happens all the time and films more often then not bounce back from it. Here’s hoping PARADISE LOST is one of those films!
Apparently Legendary Pictures’ Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni and producer Vincent Newman will continue developing the feature with plans to rework the $120+ million budget. The escalating budget is due to so much green work and VFX being planned for the feature. Legendary Pictures now hope to get the flick rolling in Late Spring or Early Summer.
PARADISE LOST tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, including the latter’s role in Adam and Eve’s fall from grace.
The Alex Proyas film is set to star Bradley Cooper, Benjamin Walker, Casey Affleck, Sam Reid, Djimon Hounsou, Rufus Sewell, Diego Boneta, Callan McAuliffe and Camilla Belle (below). No word on if PARADISE LOST’s previous 2013 release date is still in the cards but we’ll keep you updated as we hear more.
